We are pleased to announce that the nomination process is open for the Richard Doll Prize in Epidemiology, the Association’s highest honour.

Awarded every three years at the World Congress of Epidemiology, the Richard Doll Prize recognises an epidemiologist of the highest scientific standard whose work has significantly advanced understanding of the determinants of disease and health in populations through a distinguished body of research.

Established in honour of Sir Richard Doll and his lasting contributions to epidemiology, the prize celebrates scientific excellence and the impact of epidemiological research on population health. The recipient will receive a prize of USD $5,000, complimentary registration for the World Congress of Epidemiology 2027, and will be invited to deliver a prestigious Richard Doll Prize lecture during the Congress, offering an opportunity to share their research and contributions with the global epidemiological community.

Who can be nominated?

The Richard Doll Prize is awarded to an epidemiologist who has demonstrated outstanding scientific achievements that have advanced knowledge of disease determinants and population health through an extensive body of work, rather than a single publication.

 Nomination Period:  1 September – 30 November
