Willi McFarland, MD, PhD, MPH is a Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the UCSF School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Public Health Research at the San Francisco Department of Public Health. He conducts research on the epidemiology and prevention of HIV in California and internationally. His primary emphasis is on methods for epidemiological research and surveillance in populations experiencing disparities in HIV, STI, and other infectious diseases. He is funded for several active longitudinal and cross-sectional studies by the CDC and NIH. He is also the recipient of multiple grants for the teaching of research methods from the undergraduate through post-doctoral levels.
